Claire has worked in costume for over ten years engineering textile effects for film, theatre and television productions. She has an expert working knowledge of textile techniques including; fabric printing, dyeing and specialist surface effects.
Sarah specialises in dyeing the fabrics and costumes used for the ﬁlms and has developed expert knowledge of the dye process, as well as screen printing and breaking down of character costumes.
Louisa has an MA in Textile Design from the Chelsea College of Art & Design and specialises in screen printing, breaking down and other fabric manipulation techniques.
Together, Sarah, Louisa and Claire have many years of experience working together in Textile Departments on major ﬁlm productions, Including Warhorse, Lincoln, Harry Potter, Maleﬁcent, Pan and Heart of the Sea.
We are able to produce a variety of printing techniques. Pigment printing being the most popular and cost effective. Acid printing for silk wool and nylon, and procion printing for cotton and linens. Specialised printing and dyeing are available. This includes discharge printing, Devore, foiling and flocking. We also offer paper printing.
At Collective Textiles we are able to dye a wide variety of fabrics. We are highly skilled in colour matching, and have a good knowledge of the various dyes required to achieve the best results. Specialised dyeing techniques are available such as Ombre and patch dyeing. Each project is individually priced depending on the nature of the job specification.
Having over 5 year’s experience in the costume textiles departments on major film productions, both Sarah and Louisa have gained a valuable knowledge into the extensive range of fabric techniques used when adding colour to costumes. This rangesfrom air brushing, hand painting, dyeing, and distressing.
We have two screen printing beds, the largest allowing us to print up to 1m50 by 1m 80. We can print onto a variety of different mediums, including paper/card, metal, perspex and glass.
Whether it be advice on how to design a repeat pattern or simply discussing the overall look of the print, we are able to help and advise clients in preparing of their artwork. We are also proficient in achieving the desired fabric technique to fit the brief of the client.

The studio has 24hrs access and members will have their own set of keys and lockable locker.

All members must pay a deposit which they will get back at the end of their contract.
Notice must be give in writing no less than 28 days prior to cancellation.

Clients are required to pay 50% deposit up front and the remaining 50% on delivery of the product.
We strongly advise that all fabrics are sampled, prior to printing or dyeing the finished product. Due to every process being done by hand, irregularities may occur. Clients should be aware that the finished piece may not always be an identical representation of the original sample.
All completed products remain the property of Collective Textiles until payment has been received in full.
